EMCO OS License Modifier Offers Registration Info Management Compatible with Windows 7

REYKJAVIK, Iceland -- December 21, 2009 -- EMCO Software, a provider of software solutions for computer network management, announced availability of OS License Modifier 2.3, a freeware tool for centralized management of Windows registration information on remote PCs. The new release of OS License Modifier is compatible with Windows 7 and has earned the "Compatible with Windows 7" logo. Compatibility with Windows 7 allows network administrators to use OS License Modifier for getting and updating information about the registered owner and organization on desktops running on Windows 7.

Keeping Windows registration information up-to-date is important for IT staff of any company and organization. Every time when the desktop owner is changed, information about the new owner should be specified in Windows. However in most cases, a new owner forgets or doesn't know how to update the registration information in Windows, so the desktop keeps outdated information. Over time, the number of PCs with incorrect registration information grows, and it becomes a hard job for network administrators to manage licensing.

Repackaging Tool from EMCO Handles the Challenge of Remote Software Deployment

This product delivers features to create installation in Windows Installer format (MSI packages) and repackage existing installations to MSI. Installations produced by MSI Package Builder are ready for deployment on remote PCs through Active Directory's Group Policy or other tools for remote software installations on Windows platform.

Nowadays, when number of software installations continuously grow, it's hard for system administrators to keep software management under control. Good old approaches of software installations don't work anymore. Automatic deployment tools, such as the one available in Active Directory from Microsoft, can simplify software distribution, but they can deploy only installations that support silent deployment mode. There is no single standard for installations and every software manufacturer creates installation according with own set of requirements. In many cases such installations don't support silent installation mode and aren't ready for remote distribution.

MSI Package Builder offers an ability to transform installations, that aren't ready for remote deployment, to the MSI format that supports silent installation mode and can be distributed remotely. The core of this product is the live monitoring technology that can capture file system and registry changes to produce MSI package. As the result installation repackaging can be performed automatically by activating monitoring and launching original installation to follow setup steps. When original installation is completed MSI Package Builder automatically creates installation project from monitoring results and generate MSI package.

EMCO Announces Availability of the Successor Tool for noPing Inspector Freeware

Ping Monitor is a new name of the freeware product line from EMCO, known before as noPing Inspector.

Ping Monitor is a free tool that can be used for automatic 24/7 connection monitoring to network hosts by sending pings with regular intervals and analyzing replies. It is able to automatically detect connection outages and restores and execute various actions on these events, including e-mail (and SMS through Email-to-SMS services) notifications and launching configured commands. The available release of Ping Monitor contains all features of noPing Inspector and is recommended to replace of any old installation.

EMCO Releases New Version of Free Network Connection Monitoring Tool

The new Ping Monitor 2.2, will help network administrators to make up/down state monitoring of their servers and be notified about every outage happened with them.
