Version 4.3.0 is available

Compatibility with Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2

This version provides a full compatibility with latest Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 operating systems. It means that you can run Remote Desktop under Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 as well as connect to remote hosts working on these platforms.

Version 4.2.0 is available

Three product editions

Starting from this version, product is available in three editions: Started, Professional and Enterprise. Starter edition provides only basic set of remote access features. Professional edition includes advanced remote management and some remote inventory features. Enterprise edition has all set of features, including extended inventory, export and reporting.

Improved Remote Viewer

New Remote Viewer comes with a set of important improvements. First of all, remote service installation procedure was optimized, so now service installation is much more stable on different platforms. Also, data transfer mechanism was improved to make remote desktop management even more responsive.

New PC Summary look

Now when PC node is selected in the tree, you can see new PC summary view. It includes toolbar with quick access to main actions and basic inventory information about software and hardware assets.

New Inventory Report

Inventory Report was completely reworked. Information was regrouped and reordered to improve readability and save occupied space. One of the main benefits in the new report is using colors and icons to improve visual data representation.

Inventory fields marked as Read Only are updated sometimes at new scan
Errors during remote service installation on x64 platforms
Autoupdate action executed from pop-up menu causes SQL error
Incorrect Viewer menu redrawing on Vista

Remote installation of utilities service on NT fails
Potential access violation on Extract All operation
Hang up when Viewer node is selected on the tree

New Alternative Credentials interface

Alternative credentials management was improved to support complex network environments which have multiple domains and workgroups. Now you can configure separate administrative credentials that should be used to access each domain/workgroup or particular PC.

Updated icons set

New icons applied to trees and toolbars helps better perception of displayed data and available actions. The overall interface became clear.

Remote service installation failure
Wrong information displayed by software licenses comparator
Incorrect extraction of inventory information, in particular about memory, hard drive, etc.

Version 4.0.0 is available

Windows Vista support

Remote Desktop Professional became Windows Vista compatible. You can launch application on computer with Windows Vista or connect to clients where Windows Vista is installed.

64-bit Windows versions support

A list of supported operation systems was supplemented by 64-bit platforms like Windows Vista x64 and Windows 2003 x64. Remote Desktop Professional was improved to work under these platforms.

New communication protocol

Communication protocol between server and remote services was changed from DCOM/RPC to sockets. This change significantly simplifies service installation on remote computer, because it doesn't require any additional actions for enabling communication between server and service.

User Account Control (UAC) support

User Account Control (UAC) support was added for Windows Vista. You don't need to launch Remote Desktop Professional using 'Run as Administrator' command under Vista now, because it is automatically executed with administrative permissions. If you are not computer administrator, you will be prompted to enter administrative credentials.
