Here at EMCO we're always working on product improvements. Our goal is to create a powerful and flexible, but easy-to-use remote deployment tool, that helps to automate installation and uninstallation procedures across entire organization. We continue to get a lot of suggestions regarding new features and improvements for EMCO Remote Installer that can help administrators to automate their tasks. All tips are carefully analyzed by our team, prioritized and added into the product's roadmap plan, represented below. Goals of the Next Release

The upcoming EMCO Remote Installer version 4.0 is planned as the major upgrade with extended set of features. It will be completely migrated to Microsoft technologies and provide an extended support of latest Windows 7 and Windows 2008 R2 platforms. Version 4.0 will be developed in scope of Microsoft Empower for ISVs program. Main focus areas of the version 4.0 are listed below.

Remote Deployment

• Installation and uninstallation of deployment packages (EXE installations, MST files, etc.) that support silent installation mode
• Application uninstallation on multiple PCs at once
• Scheduled installations and uninstallations
• Execute remote operations depending on specified conditions

Software Audit

• Improved detection of installed software
• Extended software audit reports

Network Engine

• Performance improvements of network operations
• Integration with Active Directory

Visual Interface

• Brand new, modern visual interface based on Ribbon UI
• Improved logging module
• Better display of remote operation progress and execution results
• Wizards for all main operations

Timeline

At the current moment the final release of version 4.0 is planned for Q4 2010. Beta versions most likely will be available since December 2010, so if you are interested to take part in beta testing, please let us know.
