Hosts Monitoring

Simultaneous Hosts Monitoring

The program monitors hosts simultaneously by sending ICMP echo requests (pings) to hosts on a regular basis. Each host is monitored independently to guarantee high monitoring performance.

Host State Monitoring

The program detects the current state (Up/Down) of each monitored host using its ICMP echo replies (pings).

Connection Quality Tracking

The program detects the current connection quality (Good/Warning/Bad/Critical) for each monitored host based on the packet loss, latency percentile and jitter metrics.

New in v.9

Latency Measurement Precision

Use an advanced high-precision ping latency measurement or the standard Windows ping latency measurement.

Individual Monitoring Settings for Hosts/Groups

Override common monitoring settings (for example, state and quality detection parameters) used for all hosts and apply individual settings for selected hosts and groups.

Monitoring Analysis and Statistics

System State Overview

Get an overview of the current state of your network. The program shows the total number of monitored hosts, the number of hosts with different states and the connection quality. You can click the displayed numbers and navigate to hosts with specific characteristics.

Connection Performance and Statistics

Get access to the collected monitoring statistics and information on the host performance for a selected time period. The program provides access to the uptime, packet loss, latency, CV, MOS and other metrics for a selected time period and uses them to calculate the host performance for this period. The collected metrics are displayed as charts.

Timeline

The timeline view provides access to raw ping reply data for every host, so you can see it displayed as a chart.

Hosts State Monitor

The special mode of UI data representation that displays hosts states on a screen as pictograms, so you can see the state of all hosts on a single screen. This view is designed for displaying host state information in control rooms.

Hosts Quality Monitor

The special mode of UI data representation that displays hosts qualities on a screen as pictograms, so you can see the quality of all hosts on a single screen. This view is designed for displaying host quality information in control rooms.

Client/Server Features and Remote Connecting

Client/Server Architecture

Run the program as a client-server. The server works as a Windows service, hence it monitors hosts, sends notifications and generates reports even after you have closed a client, switched Windows accounts or logged off from Windows. A client is a Windows program that displays monitoring results and allows the user to manage the monitored hosts and configuration.

Client Connections

Run multiple clients simultaneously to connect to the same server and work with the same configuration.

Monitoring Web Interface

The web interface provides access to all the monitoring and statistical data. It allows reviewing this data and starting/stopping monitoring for selected hosts/groups.

User Access Permissions

Configure who can use the program and what operations are allowed. Permissions may be granted to Windows users and groups, so you can assign different roles to them in the program.

Alerts and Integrations

Notifications on Host State Changes

When the state (Up/Down) of the monitored host changes, the program automatically sends all types of configured notifications.

Notifications on Connection Quality Changes

When the connection quality (Good/Warning/Bad/Critical) for the monitored host changes, the program automatically sends all types of configured notifications.

Notifications: E-mail, Sound and Windows Tray

The program can send e-mail notifications to a configured list of e-mail recipients. Sound and Windows tray notifications are also available on the computer where the program client UI is running.

Custom Notification Actions

Specify a script/executable that can be configured as a custom notification. This script/executable is launched when the host state or the connection quality changes.

Individual Notification Settings for Hosts/Groups

Override common notification settings used for all hosts and apply individual settings for hosts/groups. For example, you can specify different e-mail recipients, etc.

Data Export and Reports

Raw Ping Reply Data Exporting

Export ping reply data collected by the program during a selected time range into a file.

Regular Reports

Generate and send reports on a regular basis. The reports include statistics for the selected hosts and can be saved into a file or sent by e-mail.

Individual Settings for Reports

Override the common settings used for all reports and specify individual settings for reports. For example, it is possible to specify different e-mail recipients for different reports.

Reports Branding

Use a custom logo and a custom footer in the generated reports.

Reports Uploading to an FTP

Upload generated reports to a specified FTP server.

Notes:

  1. There are no licensing limitations in the program, but the number of supported hosts depends on the hardware used. On modern hardware, it is possible to monitor 8,000+ hosts.
